Creation Feature: Stadium
My stadium project was inspired by "Vicarage Road", the home of Watford FC. Rather than create an exact replica, I wanted to build a modern, multi-tiered stadium that still captured the character of the original.
I started building it in June, having bought my first nanoblock set in May. The first design was half the size that it is now, with fewer details and at one point it had a very different seat configuration.
I decided to double the size in order to add more detail and make it look more realistic. Details now include pitch lines, 22 players, goals, a referee, a ball, substitutes benches with substitutes and managers, a players tunnel, WFC seat lettering, corporate boxes, flags, a press box, the club emblem (at the rear of each end of the stadium), stairs, pillars, floodlights, and a few more! I would like to add a roof and large LCD style screens in the future.
In all, I think I spent roughly 12-14 hours on this project, and used several different sets, including budgies, cockatiels, Japanese tree frogs, Empire State Buildings, monotone sets, a Schnauzer and a pick-up truck.
