Creation Feature: Batmobile-inspired Car
This car was inspired by the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman movie. I was going to use regular blocks for building this car, but it looked rather blocky and couldn’t mimic the streamline shape of the car.
At first I didn’t have black slanted blocks, so I used white ones from the Sydney Opera House (NBH-052) set and a Shinkenshen set, and the car looked crude, which didn’t do justice to its movie counterpart. So I bought the Hot Rod (NBH-072) car set and the steam locomotive sets just for the black slanted bricks and made the Batmobile black.
What I really like about this model is that each side/rear fin is made of bricks that can be adjusted relatively to give a curve impression. What I don’t like about this model are the wheels, which are made of 2x2 round blocks, and the studs on them make the wheels somehow looked weird. I was going to use wheels from toy cars, but they would not make the model 100% Nanoblock.
Maybe Kawada can release some proper wheels one day?
