Hina Doll 2015 (NBC-130) is based on Edo period 江戸時代 (1603 to 1868)
Hina Matsuri, also called Doll's Day, Girls' Day, the Peach Festival or Momo no Sekku (桃の節句), is the season when peach flowers are in bloom. It is celebrated in Japan on March 3rd every year. It is also a day when charming dolls are set out for display to symbolize the family's wish that their daughter will be healthy, free from calamity and able to obtain a happy life with a good husband.
This new version of NBC-130 comes with cool new design whereby the backside placed Chrome Yellow using L shape blocks as folding screen called byōbu (屏風)
Between the Emperor and Empress, there is an arrangement of two vases of peach blossoms called a Sanbo Kazari (三方飾), which compose of artificial peach branch Kuchibana (口花).
The Hina Doll 2014 (NBC-103) version only has two lampstands and it also uses two Magenta P1010 base plates, while the new 2015 version uses two Dark Red P1010 base plates.
I like the Hina Doll 2014 version most as the Cobalt Blue colour of Emperor's and the Magenta colour of the Empress's traditional dressings and base plates are more bright as compared to the 2015 version. If the well-designed ‘gold’ folding screen byōbu (屏風) can be placed onto the 2014 version, it would be perfect.
